We have a Crawler!

This milestone Monday is brought to you by Safety First baby-proofing gear.

Emerson has been extremely busy in the last few weeks. His recent major accomplishments include:

1. Clapping. He just figured out how to mimic the clapping we consistently have modeled through all our cheering over his other major accomplishments. Along with this, he has kind of learned how to sign "more" and successfully used it at lunch Sunday.

2. Crawling. On Wednesday, July 30, Emerson crawled on his grandma Jensen's blanket towards his daddy's fountain drink. He really likes his straws. He did it a second time. And then we realized that we should take a video. Good thing he also really likes cameras. The following is yet another video I took after he worked on his crawling technique a little more.

3. Biting. He has 6 teeth, and is getting really good at chewing soft foods, from cantaloupe and cooked carrots, to peas and pear slices. We tried uncooked apples, but he didn't do so well there. He has been biting his momma while feeding for quite some time, but now he has also bitten arms, hands, fingers, a shoulder, and then some. This is not a habit we are excited about. Hopefully he will stop before it gets him kicked out of a daycare in the future for biting other babies.

Big boy chair! At AZ Wilderness Brewery. Don't judge.

4. Swimming. Emerson has been in swimming lessons for 4 weeks. He loves the water, and since starting lessons has enjoyed bath time even more than ever. He doesn't cry in the water ever, and I have really enjoyed watching him in his lessons when he swims with dad, and tonight I enjoyed swimming with him for the first lesson.

Getting in the water.

Singing silly songs in the water.. dad's favorite, I am sure.

I will end with this ridiculous picture that we took of him trying to get a shot of all his teeth. We call it, as his aunt Shannon called it, the "Here's Johnny" picture.

You can see 5/6 teeth in this picture. And eyelashes for miles.
